Create a quick action from an existing task
In your In-basket, start a task, such as releasing a result or sending a patient message.
Complete the necessary steps for the task but do not click "Accept". Instead, look for and click the "Save as Quick Action" button.
Give your new quick action a descriptive title and click "Mark as Done". This will remove the encounter from your In-basket.
You can then find your new quick action under "QuickActions" in the top right corner of your screen in your In-basket for future use.
Create a quick action using the "Manage Quick Actions" button
Go to your Inbasket and locate the toolbar.
Click the arrow next to the "Manage QuickActions" button.
From the drop-down menu, select the type of quick action you want to create, such as "New Patient Message" or "Create Result Note".
Follow the on-screen prompts to build and save the quick action, including adding any necessary SmartLinks to pull in patient-specific data.
Tips for quick actions
Use SmartLinks: Include SmartLinks in your quick action templates so that they automatically pull in the correct patient information when you use them.
